Finding ourselves hungry and in Lynbrook, Long Island, to visit Trainland (we're from Toronto), we walked a block to the Red Apple Diner for a quick sandwich or burger. I was impressed by the whole experience. The diner was crowded but our food came quickly. I was most impressed by our waiter who was thoroughly professional and friendly. I ordered the chicken salad and bacon club sandwich and my son had potato skin which he said was great (and generous). The chicken salad in my sandwich wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was good. (The accompanying fries were crisp and excellent.) I also enjoyed the cole slaw. This side was served with a half-slice of pickle that was one of the best I've ever eaten, a real deli-style sour dill. At the cash, the tab we paid was not that expensive, either. All in all, Red Apple was excellent. Kudos to our waiter, Nelson!
I remember the old Lynbrook Diner, which was great. I recall it shut down sometime before COVID, which made us very sad. The new diner, under new management, I assume, has excellent food and service. The waiters/servers are extremely polite and attentive - couldn't ask for better. The hours are still a bit limited, compared to other diners, but it is still a great choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Keep up the good work!
Called to ask if they could accommodate my family members after a funeral. We wanted to be seated together as a party ( 15 ). They provided for us when we arrived, and that is the best customer service
Wonderful experience! Went for my birthday in September and got pancakes and turkey bacon and both were delicious. Classic diner atmosphere, looks so nice in there and it was the perfect birthday breakfast. Pancakes were pretty big too, I was so excited when they came out. Hostess was SO nice!! Marianna contributed a lot to the great experience we had!! Waiter was also great and helpful and everything was a smooth and happy experience. Went back today and the service was excellent again. 10/10 diner
Great place. We got an omlette and split it. Really good and low key diner.
First time to red apple diner with my husband. Service excellent! Waitress was very nice and friendly. I ordered Romanian Steak and eggs, asked for Medium rare but was given well done, ask the waitress for a change and they change it and gave me a full meal with medium rare steak. The chef even came out to apologize, service excellent! Food came out Hot and tasty!
This is our 5 or 6 visit.On the 1st we were greeted by Brandon who was most professional and pleasant. He stopped by the table to check on our visit. We were so happy and enjoyed his manner we decided to put this spot on the top of our list. The food was fresh and well-prepared. Bringing my friend for a birthday meal next week.
